Mag-Restor

Is a patented formula magnesium amino acid chelate feed supplement that replenishes the bio available magnesium levels in horses to their normal daily requirements.

The average daily requirement of magnesium in the horse, ranges from 6 to 20 grams per day, dependent on body weight, some magnesium is in their normal food intake. Most horses and ponies average 1.3 grams per 100 Kg bodyweight.

This chelated form of magnesium , does not impede the action of other minerals in the body. e.g. does not tie up calcium. As the magnesium is chelated, it is virtually pre digested, therefore the horses system does not have to work hard to break down the product to extract the magnesium, unlike many other types of magnesium which is basically in a grit like state and little is known how much magnesium is actually absorbed into the system. With Mag-Restor any unused or excess magnesium is excreted via the urine.

As Mag-Restor is already tied to a protein we are finding that reasonably small amounts are giving good results, especially in the laminitic horse or pony. Each 10 grams of Mag-Restor gives 1 gram of pure, highly absorbable and bio available magnesium.

As Mag-Restor is soluble, it can also be dissolved in water or preferably a corn oil or similar and be administered orally by syringe.

Mag-Restor contains no banned substances.
