BIOFLOG A hot tradition
Hot poultice has traditionally been used for the care of, joints, tendons & muscles in both humans & horses.
The use of Bioflog before hard work is an excellent complement to the physical warming up period that minimises the risk of injury. Immediately after hard work, it is better to use a cold poultice such as Swede Clay & then when the legs have become cold, use a hot poultice. Description:Herb-based hot poultice for horses. May increase blood circulation, thus assisting normal healing. Use in the presence of injured joints, tendons, ligaments and sore backs. Aids in the reduction of injuries during hard training and competition by warming up the joints and tendons before the action . Information: Excellent alternative to blistering as normally no skin injury or skin marks occur. Softens hard wind galls. Ready to use. Easy to apply Directions for use: Spread a thick layer directly on the affected area. Afterwards, lay plastic or paper on the clay and then gamgee. Finish by bandaging. Let the clay work for 8 - 16 hours. use of Bioflog can be repeated daily. For a sore back, spread a thick layer of Bioflog on the back, cover with plastic or paper. Cover with a warm blanket. SWEDE CLAY Cooling on the horse's termsHorse people have from time immemorial cooled horses’ legs with water and/or clay after a hard days work. Why water or clay? Probably because it was observed the wild horses would either choose to stand in water or wet mud Description: Cooling clay for horses legs. Information: Use after hard work and for the daily care of the competition horses' legs. Works as a heat exchanger by helping extract the heat from the horses' legs. Thereby helping the legs cool more deeply and effectively. Used and recommended by top trainers and vets. Ready to use, easy to smear on. Contains no banned substances. Directions: Fast cooling:Smear a thick layer directly onto the actual area. Leave on until the clay is completely dry. After cooling brush or wash off if desired, otherwise it will drop off by itself. Slow cooling: Wrap paper on top of the clay and bandage the leg. A cooling effect (but not as effective as the clay only) will ensue, and after this a heating effect. The paper wrapped clay will act in a similar fashion to a stable bandage. ARNICA GEL. Pure tincture of Arnica in a gel base.
Application: Use for massage of the horses muscles. Information: An excellent massage gel. Easy to work with. Used by professional massage therapists. Directions for use: Squeeze a sufficient amount of gel on to the hand and massage the muscles thoroughly. Cover with a warm blanket or bandage if possible. Content: Extract of Arnica, Isopropanol, Gel base.

LINIMENT BLUE.
Description: Massage liniment for horses.
Directions for use: Use undiluted. Ensure the hair & skin are clean. Rub well into the area to ensure contact with the skin. Can be used with or without bandaging. Use once or twice daily if needed.

ARNICA TINCTURE.
Application: Use for the daily care of the legs & muscles of training & competing horses. As a warm compress. Mix two parts water to one part arnica tincture. Take sufficient cotton wool or gamgee to cover the required area & soak in the mixture. Apply the gamgee to the area & bandage. As a liniment, massage the area with undiluted tincture & bandage if possible. Content: Extract of Arnica, Alcohol & Water Available sizes: 0.5 litre, 1 litre & 5 litres.

HexocilDescription:Hexocil is a disinfectant shampoo that may help with skin problems. Hexocil may clean the skin completely. How to use:Clean the skin with Warm or Cold water. Apply Hexocil where needed. Leave for 10-15 minutes, then wash off or just let it dry. Major Constituents:Hexetidine 0.5%, Ammonium dodecyl sulphate 17% Store at room temperature. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands after use.
